The 101 Seminar "101" originated at American universities and refers to a basic or introductory course. It's typically attached to classes that teach the most fundamental concepts, principles, or knowledge of a discipline, and is now also commonly used for guides or manuals that provide essential information. The Beyond Chapter 101 Seminar packs two hours with the basic, essential things you need to know about internships. It's designed for those interested in overseas internships who don't know where to start. 2. About the Overseas Internship 101 Seminar - Did you know that many architecture students abroad gain internship experience at renowned firms every year, laying the groundwork for employment overseas? - Worried your English isn't good enough? Students from Eastern Europe and China, who also speak different languages, are going abroad and gaining internship experience. - Worried about visas? Internships are a student privilege. As long as you're enrolled in school, it's usually possible without any problems. - Nervous because it's your first time? Interns usually work alongside fellow interns. Most students who are nervous and anxious at first end up having such a valuable time that they're sad to leave. An overseas internship is more than just a job—it can be the starting point of your career and your first step toward a renowned international firm or studying abroad. Beyond Chapter mentor Donghyun Kim will show you the opportunities you may have been missing! 3. Seminar Content Drawing on his professional and teaching experience in New York, mentor Donghyun Kim will give you the big picture along with essential, strategic tips! Which firms abroad are well known? Which internships are open right now? Where can I find them? What architecture-related roles exist beyond architecture firms? Can I go even if my English isn't strong? Can I apply from Korea? Can I go without studying abroad? Why should I go? Is it essential? When is the best time to go? How long does it last? What do I need? Do I need connections? What is the pay like? What kind of work do interns usually do? How should I put together my résumé? What is a cover letter? How do I create a good portfolio? What about visas? Can graduates or experienced professionals apply? Collection of useful resources Q&A 4.
